SHAWN CLARK

Shawn Clark writes music from the heartland. Attend a Shawn Clark Family Band show and you’ll hear a Hank Williams, Sr. tune or an obscure Marty Robbins song. Primarily, you’ll hear Shawn Clark’s original tunes, delivered in his confident baritone.

Inspired when hearing Townes Van Zandt’s version of the Rolling Stones’ “Dead Flowers” while watching the film, The Big Lebowski, Shawn Clark thought, “I want to write music that sounds like that.”  Two years later, he has two albums, a fine group of fellow musicians making up the “Shawn Clark Family Band” and his sights set on bringing this old-style country music to a wider audience.

With his ever growing collection of original songs, like: “Foot Taps on Hardwood Floors,” “The Needle is a Skippin” and “Wasn’t Lookin for Love,” Shawn Clark explores the hopefulness of new love, the loneliness of lost love, and the conflict of falling in love fast, when you had no intention of racking up another broken heart.

A Texas native, Shawn Clark now calls central California home. The Shawn Clark Family Band can be found playing throughout San Luis Obispo County, drawing the attention of music promoters throughout the state and receiving radio airplay as far away as Europe.

JUNE 27- 5:30 pm-7:30pm

Shae Angles is from the central coast. She started her musical adventure with piano lessons when she was young, and later, she picked up a guitar. Her music is really versatile, which means each song has its own special sound. You can hear influences from classic hit artists like Fleetwood Mac, CCR, and Elton John in her music. Plus, she adds some country music flair, drawing inspiration from artists like Kacey Musgraves, Lady A, and Morgan Wade.

JULY 11- 5:30 pm-7:30pm

AUGUST 1- 5:30 pm-7:30pm

WESTERN EDGE

Way Out West is a genre-spanning band that lives at the intersection of rock, country, and happy hippy music.  We are inspired by the Eagles, Emmy Lou Harris, the Derailers, and Creedence Clearwater, but bring in Huey Lewis, Lainey Wilson and Chris Stapleton.  WOW has a great time, and it spills over to the audience in all kinds of ways. The WOW band wields their instruments with skill and passion, using tight harmonies and hot licks. Way Out West’s upbeat shows and versatility make them the band to follow on the Central Coast.

Kelly-lead guitar, voc, dad jokes, Valerie-voc, small percussion, Wayne-voc, rhythm guitar, hat, Bob-steel guitar, sitting, Art-drums, stick twirling, Vance-bass and random jumper, Andy-bass and sound extravaganza.

AUGUST 8 – 5:30 pm-7:30pm

MY MOM IS MY SISTER

Behold the official band portrait for this rootsy trio—three suspiciously related-looking white folks posing like they just escaped a 2007 Sears family special and decided “Americana” meant “we all share the same haunted DNA and questionable bangs.” Mom in the middle is gripping these two like she’s afraid the banjo will get away, flashing that “I birthed harmony itself” grin, while the left guy’s rocking the “I sell artisanal sadness at farmer’s markets” goatee and the right dude’s serving pure “I fingerpick my way through existential dread and also my cousin’s wedding.” Sepia-filtered and dangerously wholesome, this band is pure unfiltered Appalachia-by-way-of-suburbia gold. Come early, stay late, and prepare to have your soul simultaneously healed and roasted.
