About us:
Our business is all about our community. We have been called Santa Margarita’s living room by a local, and that meant everything to us. People often ask how we found ourselves in this little town after coming from Los Angeles and the answer is simple – the community. Trevor and I have spent our lives running and working in restaurants and hotels in major cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Philadelphia. We were on a mission to find and become part of a smaller, caring community and to open our own establishment there. One day while searching online, we found a little place called The Porch Cafe for sale. We reached out to the owner and came to visit and fell in love with the town but mostly, with the people we met. It wasn’t until after we took over operations of The Porch and began to put our own mark on it that we started to realize what it meant to the community. We not only strived to keep the restaurant going but “to make it the best its ever been” meant so much to our new friends and neighbors. That is because it is so much more than a restaurant. To some it is a coffee shop with wifi and few but focused breakfast offerings. To others it is their daily lunch ritual. For some it is their afterwork watering hole. For others yet, it is a meeting place, whether to discuss business or gather with friends and family. Every single day we feel lucky to have made the choices that have led us to this point, and only hope that we can maintain and grow “Santa Margarita’s living room” well into the future.
